Dust Collector Bags: fatty or oily dust

Fatty or oily dusts are common in food processing industries and in processes where hydrocarbons are present. These dusts are found in:

grain processing
milk drying
cheese whey drying
egg powder production
animal feed

As well as:

pet coke
petroleum based products
secondary smelting where plastics are present
plastic or film recycling

Not only are these dusts difficult to clean off a dust collector bag, the fats or oils permeate the media and rapid plug the bag beyond rejuvenation. Membrane laminates will foul even more rapidly. The solution lies in BWF’s CS17, CS31 and/or CS29 fluorocarbon based treatments which not repel moisture, but also fats and oils. If you have a problem with fatty or oily dusts in your dust collector bags, contact BWF America for a solution.
